About SCPYS

Developing players
on and off the pitch.

A community-based youth soccer club in Kenilworth, NJ, established in 2016 — built on relationships and development, not just competition.

Mission & vision

Play the
SCP way.

Mission

SCP Youth Soccer — Speed, Conditioning, Performance — is here to develop youth players on and off the pitch. We're committed to giving athletes the chance to build skills essential to positive growth in the sport, and to inspire each player toward a lifelong enjoyment of the game. Coaches develop players technically, tactically, physically, and psychologically, while teaching commitment, sportsmanship, teamwork, and respect. Our coaches partner with parents and players, knowing that only through commitment, hard work, and execution do we "win" both on and off the field.

Vision

SCP Youth Soccer strives to be a world-class program through the development, progress, and growth of our youth players. We prepare players for the physical, mental, and emotional complexities of the game — and the disciplines and responsibilities of life outside of soccer.

Player development philosophy

Four pillars.

Player development is our primary objective. As players progress through age groups, different components are stressed.

Technical

Dribbling, passing, receiving, shooting, heading, and goalkeeping — the individual ball skills every tactic depends on.

Tactical

Knowing when to apply the right technique — reading the game, understanding systems of play, and making smart decisions under pressure.

Physical

Soccer is demanding. We build the fitness and conditioning that keep technical and tactical skills sharp deep into the game.

Psychological

Soccer is a game of mistakes — and how a player responds is what we coach. Focus, resilience, and learning from every rep.

Who's on staff
